Bioshaft waste water system, is a premier waste water handling solution provider serving mainly the Kenyan market and East/Central Africa regions. Bioshaft system has been carefully designed and manufactured to give simple, efficient and long, trouble free service in waste water management, though in order to optimize efficiency and longevity it is important that it is properly installed, operated and maintained.
The system is however simple to install, operate and maintain. Bioshaft waste water system is purely biological. The wastewater treatment processes are both aerobic and anaerobic, majorly incorporating screening at entry, clarification, natural PH adjustment, Sedimentation, faculation.
These two main biological treatment processes are each characterized by groups of micro-organisms and specially matured Bioshaft Sewer system (BSS-E) associated enzymes which are hydrolytic in nature. These Hydrolytic BSS-Enzymes secreted by the micro-organisms aids the rate-limiting step of hydrolysis in the treatment of highly polymeric substrates present in sewage sludge. This treatment process ensures effects of mass transfer limitation, metabolic intermediates, extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), electron acceptor conditions, pH and temperature balance on the activity of the enzymes.
The treatment action is ensured through a film membrane created on contact with Garnet and filter-Ag units which are carefully aligned to receive the BSS-Enzymes. To further the effectiveness of the treatment process, a birm media, which is highly effective is carefully placed within the process flow to create maximum surface contact area for bacterial growth which forms the major treatment process. BSS system treatment process ensures that the effluent shall be free of organics and all its physio-chemical parameters at the end reservoir.
Disinfection – The liquid effluent is disinfected in the secondary chamber to ensure that no virulent organisms are present after the water has been processed. Chlorine disinfectant is therefore effectively removed in the tertiary chamber by the use of carefully designed layers of carbon filters The treated effluent is clean, odorless and safe for use either for irrigation, gardening, flashing back in the WC’s or direct discharge to the nearby streams/drainages.
